The negative predictability is very high in that no allergic disease exist to a specific allergen if there are no demonstration of allergen specific IgE. Conversely the positive predictive value of clinical disease in a patient with specific IgE demonstrated increases with the increasing level of allergen specific IgE. Any demonstration of allergen specifiv IgE production needs to be considered in the context of clinical symptoms upon the sensitized individual exposure to the allergen.

Description: Total IgE is the sum of all circulating non-specific antibodies in your body. Your doctor will usually ask for a specific IgE test on the suspected offending allergens. The measurement of specific IgE in serum is done by drawing the patient blood which is safer and more convenient test than to perform a skin prick test on the patient itself.
However, a very high total IgE reading may be indicative of a parasitic infection, especially in children.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that can help diagnose certain heart conditions by measuring the electrical activity of the heart.
ECG Test
Small sticky dots (electrodes) and wire leads are placed on your chest, arms and legs. The leads attach to the ECG machine (electrocardiograph) which records the electrical activity of the heart muscle and displays this as a trace on a screen or on paper. Any abnormality in the heart rhythm or rate, or damage to the heart muscle, can change the electrical activity of the heart. A doctor will examine the trace and look for specific features of different heart conditions.
